Meet the Nigerian Professor Who Has Emerged As The President Of Cambridge University

Ijeoma Uchegbu, a Nigerian born professor of pharmaceutical nanoscience, has been chosen to be the 7th president of Lead Wolfson College, Tinubu send congratulatory message.

Ijeoma Uchegbu, is a Nigerian born distinguished researcher and professor of pharmaceutical nanoscience and has been congratulated by President Bola Tinubu on her appointment to the position of the president of Wolfson College.

Uchegbu who is known for her groundbreaking work in nanoparticle drug delivery, was named the seventh President of one of the University of Cambridge’s 31 colleges, Wolfson College.

In response to her election, Professor Uchegbu expressed her excitement to assist students in realizing their potential and goals.

“I am so thrilled to be joining Wolfson College, an ambitious and forward-thinking College. It will be an honour to lead such a lively, diverse and engaged student community in an environment where people are stimulated culturally, socially and intellectually. I look forward to working with the Governing Body, staff and students to help realise their ambitions and potential.”

President Bola Tinubu praised Uchegbu for personifying the creativity and intelligence of the Nigerian people and for her outstanding work as a national ambassador.

Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, released a statement in which Tinubu praised Uchegbu for being a superb representative of the nation.

According to Tinubu, Uchegbu embodies the creativity, intelligence, and diligence of the Nigerian people. The statement partially read as follows and was released on the X page (previously known as Twitter)

On October 1, 2024, the present President, Professor Jane Clarke, will be succeeded by Ijeoma Uchegbu the London university Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience.
